Bord Na n-Og 25 Card Winners Bord na n-Og (The underage wing of The Charlestown Sarsfields G.A.A. Club) continued with their weekly 25 Card Game in The Pastoral Centre Lowpark Charlestown on Friday night November 13th and there was a great turnout and the following were the prize winners : 1st prize: Noel Mahon and Sr. Brendan, Eugene McLoughlin and Tommy Grady 2nd Prize: Jim Kilcoyne and Kathleen Leonard, Sean Duffy and Kevin Walsh Raffle Winners: Tom Bredican, Joe Lenehan, Tom Dunne and Carmel Moffitt Weekly game takes place every Friday night at 9pm in The Pastoral Centre. Lowpark, Charlestown. Mayo Club Stars Awards The Mayo News Club Stars Awards are taking place in Knockranny House Hotel, Westport on Friday November 27th with the action due to get underway at 9pm The Sarsfields have a total of seven players nominated and these include David Tiernan, John Casey, Aidan Higgins, Colm Maye, Mark Caffrey, Richard Haran and Thomas Parsons and all that are nominated have an outstanding chance of being selected such is the impact they made in their respective positions. It promises to be a real red letter night for the club as they dominate the nominations and what price on all seven receiving gongs!....There should be a huge Sarsfields contingent present in Knockranny on the night and tickets need to be ordered through the club and all interested are asked to contact Club Chairman Kevin James Durkin on 087-2625055 or Secretary Kevin Deignan on 086-6010883. Tickets are priced at 60 Euro and should be ordered as soon as possible as the curtain comes down on what’s been a glorious season for the Sarsfields at senior level in 2009. CBD Sports Complex News The C.B.D. Sports Complex located adjacent to Fr O`Hara Park Lowpark, Charlestown continues to be a big draw and more especially so with the long winter nights upon us. The Complex is one of the busiest and best of its kind in the county and offers wide range of facilities which cater for all ages and groups in the community. These include a fully equipped gym which has become hugely popular since it opened its doors some years back and continues to do a great business and trade as people become ever conscious of the need to exercise and maintain a good clean lifestyle. The gym also includes a Steam Room and a well stocked weights room which contains all kinds of equipment and weights to improve and enhance your strength and conditioning. The Complex also has Handball and Squash Courts and the Main Hall which plays host to Basketball and Indoor Soccer on a regular basis.
