Ciaran McBrien Named Manager of the Year PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations to Sarsfields senior manager Ciaran McBrien who was named Manager of the Year by the Mayo News Club Stars Selection Panel after his wonderful exploits at the helm of the Charlestown Sarsfields. The announcement was made in the lead up to the Mayo Club Stars Awards taking place in Knockranny House Hotel Westport on Friday November 27 where Ciaran will be presented with his award. Ciaran is one of the Sarsfields most committed and dedicated club servants and he has had a hugely successful year leading the Sarsfields to the Moclair Cup, County league success and Centenary Cup which makes 2009 one of the best and most coveted in the long and proud history of the club. His coolness on the line and ability to read the game and get the best out of his players has seen the Sarsfields sweep all before them in a season to remember as the Sarsfields sit top of the pile for the first time in many a long year. This award is a fitting tribute to a man who covers every base in his role as manager and leaves nothing to chance hence the reason the Sarsfields have swept the boards in terms of trophies and successes. He is a very modest unassuming character always preferring to deflect any praise and publicity to the team and his trusted backroom team. This award however is recognition of the level of organisation and excellence he has brought to the position of team manager and his record stands right up there with the best and made him without doubt the outstanding candidate for this most prestigious honour. All within the club and community congratulate him on his achievement and there is sure to be a huge crowd in attendance on the night for what promises to be a great night for the McBrien family and the wider Sarsfields family.
